NVIDIA has released GeForce Hotfix Driver 572.65, a specific driver update meant to fix a black screen issue that occurs on some monitors when connected through DisplayPort.
What’s Fixed in GeForce Hotfix Driver 572.65?
Black Screen on Boot – A black screen during boot was encountered by some PC configurations when using DisplayPort connections. This hotfix fixes the problem. (Bug ID: 5131002)
Why Hotfix Drivers?
NVIDIA GeForce Hotfix drivers are interim patches for problems that require quick attention, not holding out for the next formal Game Ready or WHQL-signed release. Hotfix drivers are based on the most recent stable release here—Driver 572.60—but add specific fixes for bugs in response to customer complaints and in-house testing.
Although hotfix drivers are subject to minimal QA testing, they are voluntary and released as-is for users who are encountering the particular problems they solve. The fixes in Hotfix 572.65 will be incorporated into the subsequent official Game Ready driver release.
