Rainbow Six Siege X Launches in June

Rainbow Six Siege X

Ubisoft has officially announced Rainbow Six Siege X, the most revolutionary update in the game’s decade-long lifespan, releasing June 10, 2025. This new chapter brings with it a radical visual transformation, tightened gameplay systems, and the biggest map in Siege history, paving the way for a fresh new era.

A New Way to Play – Dual Front Mode and 6v6 Battles

One of the biggest additions to Siege X is Dual Front, a permanent 6v6 mode with Siege’s largest map yet. In this new strategic game, players will create squads out of 35 different operators, fighting to capture enemy sectors while defending their own.

Though Dual Front officially debuts with Siege X in June, gamers can experience an early look through a closed beta from March 13 to March 19. To access it, gamers need to connect their Twitch and Ubisoft Connect accounts and view the official Rainbow Six Siege Twitch Showcase or other participating streams.

Visual Upgrades and Tactical Enhancements

Rainbow Six Siege X also introduces a graphical update to veteran maps, including enhanced lighting, shadows, and 4K textures. Initially, Clubhouse, Chalet, Border, Bank, and Kafe get these updates, with three more maps getting updates each season.

In terms of gameplay, Siege X enhances its tactical foundation through new destructibles such as fire extinguishers, gas pipes, and metal detectors that allow for innovative ambushes. Some other significant gameplay enhancements include:

  • Smoother rappel navigation, allowing players to run horizontally and jump around corners.
  • Revamped audio experience with better sound propagation and reverberation for more accurate enemy tracking.
  • New communication wheel for improved team coordination.
  • Updated Pick and Ban system, introducing simultaneous bans per round for faster decision-making.

Enhanced Security and New Player Experience

To fight against cheating, Rainbow Six Siege X offers R6 ShieldGuard, an enhanced anti-cheat solution that provides live security updates without regular maintenance. In addition, there will be a new reputation system that rewards good player behavior.

For new players, Siege X provides an enhanced onboarding experience, with tutorials and field training to assist new players in becoming proficient at the basics before participating in competitive games.

How to Play Rainbow Six Siege X

Siege X is free to play from June 10. New players will be able to access Dual Front, Unranked, and Quick Play modes, unlocking a maximum of 26 operators through progression. The Premium Edition upgrade includes Ranked Mode and Siege Cup once level 50 is reached, as well as instant access to additional operators.

Veteran players will keep all previously unlocked content, such as operators, inventory, and progression, and will have exclusive rewards depending on the year they joined the game.

With its biggest update to date, Rainbow Six Siege X will redefine the tactical shooter experience. More information will be shared as launch day nears.
